MRO may at times request that a registered entity self-certify compliance to one or more reliability standards or requirements. Through a self-certification, the registered entity makes an assertion regarding its compliance or applicability with the requirement(s) in question. The annual CMEP Implementation Plan includes the use of self-certifications. Self-certifications typically are limited in scope and include instructions on how to perform the self-assessment, what evidence to collect and review, and what information to communicate to MRO.
Quarterly self-certifications are used by MRO for standards and requirements associated with significant reliability risks identified at the region or ERO-wide levels. In some situations, self-certifications are also administered in place of a compliance audit for lower risk standards and requirements.
If you have questions regarding self-certifications, please contact: [email protected].
This document includes the process MRO follows for self-certifications, as well as instructions for how the entity should complete the self-certification in either Align (United States registered entities) or webCDMS (Canadian registered entities).
