Midwest Reliability Organization’s Security Advisory Council presented a webinar with Mr. Doug Peterchuck, Director – Enterprise Operational Technology from the Omaha Public Power District (OPPD). Mr. Peterchuck shared OPPD’s journey towards Information Technology/Operational Technology (IT/OT) convergence. The partnership between IT and OT allows OPPD to leverage economies of scale, limits duplication of effort, and avoids some of the risks associated with misaligned technology efforts. By defining and aligning IT and OT, OPPD is better positioned for the future, and continuing technological changes due to grid transformation.
