This pre-recorded webinar simulcast features Latrice Harkness, NERC Director of Engineering, providing an overview of NERC’s Large Load Action Plan and current efforts related to emerging large loads and computational loads.

An increasing number of large commercial and industrial loads are rapidly connecting to the bulk power system, including data centers, cryptocurrency and artificial intelligence applications, hydrogen fuel plants, and other large industrial facilities. These loads can present unique planning and operational challenges because their electrical behavior may be distinctive and less predictable than conventional loads.

This session will highlight NERC’s activities underway to address these challenges, including technical resources and guidance, proposed registry criteria, standards development efforts, stakeholder engagement opportunities, and next steps for interested industry participants.
