Periodically North America experiences cold weather events resulting in unexpected operating constraints on facilities, including fuel resource limitations, and outages, scheduled and unscheduled. Various organizations are making an effort to reduce these risks, however those efforts will not encompass all risk areas. The MRO Generator Winterization Program (GWP) will focus on those areas of risk not covered by other initiatives.
MRO developed the GWP Survey to send to select entities each year in an effort to review their winterization plans. MRO encourages all generating facilities to download a copy of the survey and perform a self-assessment of their plans for winterization through the use of the survey.
